Science & Technology Collection
Our science and technology collection encompasses a wide range subject areas, from astronomy to zoology. In addition, the department houses the library’s comprehensive collections on cooking, gardening, sewing, and cosmetology.Since 1871, Detroit Public Library has participated in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Depository Program (PTDLP), disseminating patent and trademark information and supporting the diverse intellectual property needs of the public. Our primary mission is to provide instruction on patent and trademark searching as well as information regarding the patent and trademark application process.
Free copyright forms are available to the public. However, librarians are not permitted to help customers choose the appropriate form. We continue to develop our intellectual property book collection on patent, trademark, and copyright issues.
