About Branch

The Detroit Public Library was opened in its present location on March 21, 1921. Administrative offices are located at the Main Library.

Book Drop-off

Freestanding drop boxes at the base of the stairs by Woodward Ave. In-wall drop boxes by the Cass entrance to the building.

Parking

On-street parking available, with handicapped parking in the circle drive off of Cass Ave. On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings after 5:00, and Saturday during the day, parking is available in the staff lot off of Putnam, between Cass Ave. and Woodward Ave.
