Making his fiction debut, McCall discusses his new book titled, Them, a timely and penetrating story destined to have monumental cultural impact. Them was recently cited in Publishers Weekly as one of the best books of 2007. McCall, is also the author of the New York Times bestseller, “Makes Me Wanna Holler: A Young Black Man in America.”

In Other People’s Skin, Tracy Price-Thompson and TaRessa Stovall, along with fellow authors Elizabeth Atkins and Desiree Cooper, take on one of the most controversial topics within the African-American community: the self-hatred caused by intra-racial prejudice and the ongoing obsession with skin tone and hair texture. In other words, the “skin/hair thang” among black women. A must read, this book is celebrated as one of the most innovative and varied anthologies of sisterhood and unity to date.

Connie Porter, author of all six books about “Addy” in the American Girl Collection, has sold more than 3 million copies to date. She has written two adult novels, All Bright Court and Imani All Mine. All-Bright Court was selected by the American Library Association as one of the Best Books of 1991.
