BACKGROUND: By law, all full-power
television stations in the U.S. must turn off their
analog signals on February 17, 2009 and begin broadcasting
exclusively in a digital format. Recent polling data
suggests that the transition to DTV will disproportionately
affect minority communities, including the elderly and
African-Americans.
July 19, 2008
In cooperation with the NAB, the National Black Church
Initiative (NBCI) will be distributing 100,000 pieces
of DTV literature throughout their network of churches.
July 20, 2008

the NBCI will be hosting speakers to address congregations
