Overview

Under general supervision, provides customer service, assistance and support in the use of library technologies; assists in the resolution of minor computer and software issues; provides training assistance to staff and customers in technology use; assists in the planning and facilitation of classes and programs related to library technology; and serves as the first line of service between the branch departments and the IS department.

Overview

The Security Department services the library system twenty-four (24) hours a day and is responsible for maintaining Security and enforcing library policies at Main Library. The Security Department is located in the Main Library at 5201 Woodward Avenue.

Under administrative direction, plans, coordinates, and manages the adult services operations, programs, services, and personnel in an assigned Library Branch within the Detroit Public Library (DPL) system; plans and develops cooperative projects in the community; maintains collections relevant to program areas and assigned branch location; provides quality customer service; and supports organizational goals, policies and guidelines.

Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting in the administration of a branch or main library department of the Detroit Public Library (DPL); assists with the supervision of the day-to-day operations, staffing, planning, and implementation of assigned adult services program area; ensures quality customer service; maintains and organizes a relevant collection of library materials; provides relevant programs for the community; and participates in and supports organizational goals, policies, and guidelines.

Under general supervision, provides general reference and/or specialized customer service within an assigned children/youth services program area of the Detroit Public Library (DPL); provides assistance to library customers such as analyzing library needs, selecting library materials, advises the public in the use of library materials and resources, and handles reference and information search requests; provides quality customer service; and supports organizational goals, policies and guidelines.

Overview

Under manager’s supervision, performs routine library customer service functions and tasks within the Detroit Public Library (DPL) including greeting customers, assisting with routine circulation activities, entering and retrieving data from automated systems, and assisting library users.
