The Detroit Public Library is an independent, municipal corporation governed by a seven member Detroit Library Commission. Members are appointed by the Detroit Public Schools Board of Education. The seventh member, the current president of the Board of Education, is an ex-officio member.

The next Detroit Public Library Commission meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 16th at 1:30pm at the Main Library in the Galleria.

Any individual exhibiting symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, OR who has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and is not considered fully recovered by their healthcare provider may not attend Commission meetings in- person.
