April Adult Art Class
With Matisse’s artwork, we can see some significance of esteemed playfulness in his work. This is skill to what he does, but there is no sense of perfection or anatomic or proportionate perfection to what he does. When we see the works of other artists and masters, we feel compelled to paint as great or as ideally as them, at least those who consider themselves as perfectionists.
This activity is to to help the students understand that a finished piece of work does not have to be perfect, as long as they are enjoying themselves and having fun. This is a free ranged activity, meaning they are able to use whatever materials they see fit in creating their work of art, with the only exception that it depicts a still moment in life. For example, this can be someone sitting out on their porch gossiping with a neighbor, or someone looking at groceries or enjoying a cup of coffee.
Local artist Yazmin Yanid Aguilar continues to challenge students to develop their skills.
