Is it a Good Idea to Hold a Michigan Constitutional Convention?
Michigan voters will face a choice on the November ballot: to hold a constitutional convention or not. Many amendments have been voted in since the Michigan Constitution was last ratified in the 1960s. Some argue that it would be better to draft a new constitution, while others are afraid of what special interest groups might be able to have included.
Mr. Lupher will describe the process of convening a constitutional convention and highlight some of the issues worthy of convention delegates' consideration.
A Zoom link will be sent to registrants before the program. We routinely initiate Zoom auto-transcription. If you need further accommodation for accessibility, please notify the organizer by 4:00 p.m. Eastern the Thursday before the program. We will address your need if possible.
