Elizabeth Acevedo

This year's Bauder Contemporary American Authors Lecture features Elizabeth Acevedo, author of The Poet X.

A 2018 National Book Award Finalist, The Poet X tells the story of a young girl in Harlem who discovers slam poetry as a way to understand her mother's religion and her own relationship with the world. The Bauder lecture series is a free, public program of Marygrove College. Join a lively discussion of the book at your local Detroit Public Library.
