Comerica Bank Java and Jazz Presents: Straight Ahead
Comerica Bank Java and Jazz at the Detroit Public Library kicks off a new season of outdoor concerts this June. We’re celebrating our 21st season with Comerica Bank, providing a monthly after work concert series that showcases some of Detroit’s creative talent.
From June thru August, join us for our summer series of outdoor concerts on the lawn, located at the corner of Woodward and Kirby. Refreshments and seating will be provided, but feel free to bring a lawn chair of your own. All concerts are free and open to the public, rain or shine.
Straight Ahead
Out of Detroit’s lively jazz scene, comes the ground breaking, Grammy-nominated jazz group Straight Ahead. A group of strong, inventive instrumentalists and vocalists, they have shown themselves to be powerful and imaginative composers and arrangers.
Widely recognized for their eclectic and soulful approach to creating music, the Straight Ahead sound ranges comfortably from mainstream jazz, contemporary jazz, latin and jazzy hip-hop. Their live performances are a dynamic celebration of power and joy!
