April is Michigan Financial Wellness Month

Michigan Financial Wellness Month occurs every April to provide financial literacy information on banking basics, budgeting, investing, credit and debt, and even retirement planning. This year the Detroit Public Library offers a range of programs—for every age!

Stop by any Detroit Public Library location this month to pick up a free book—“Owl and Otter and the Big Talent Show.” Then check the calendar for story times, crafts and other activities!

Co-ops 101: Cooperatives & Neighborhood Self-Determination

Main Library

Tuesday, April 2, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

This workshop with the Detroit Community Wealth Fund will cover the basics of co-ops, how they can help support neighborhood economies and give neighbors greater control of the flow of wealth and resources generated within a neighborhood, and why co-ops are a smart choice for aspiring and current small business owners who want to build up their community.
