
The Detroit Festival of Books, also known as Detroit Bookfest, will be hosting a variety of free author talks at the Main Library on Friday, July 18th.
The free event will run from 11:00am - 5:00pm with live presentations taking place in the Main Library's Clara Stanton Jones Friends Auditorium and HYPE Teen Center:
- 1:00pm - Curtis Chin, Talk & Documentary Screening (Clara Stanton Jones Friends Auditorium)
- 2:00pm - Mark Crilley, Live Drawing Demonstration (HYPE Teen Center)
- Cancelled: 3:00pm - Dr. Ricky Ross, Life & Book Talk
- Due to a flight delay, today's discussion at 3:00pm featuring Freeway Rick Ross has unfortunately been cancelled.
- 4:00pm - The AstroTwins, Book Talk (HYPE Teen Center)
Supporting presenters will also be speaking throughout the day in the Main Library's Galleria and Old Fine Arts space:

- 2:00pm - Vanessa Rose, "The Legacy of Norman 'Turkey' Stearnes" (Old Fine Arts)

- 4:00pm - Barbara Henning, "The Importance of Poetry & Fiction" (Old Fine Arts)
