Starting this August, unplug, slow down, and rediscover the joy of handwritten letters at the Lincoln and Parkman Branches. Visit interactive mailbox stations to write an anonymous letter of encouragement, celebration, or comfort to a neighbor, or pick up a letter left by someone else when you need a lift.
How it works:
- Write a letter: Find all the materials you need to write an anonymous letter to a neighbor using our writing prompts, or create your own.
- Take a letter: If you match one of the categories in the letter binder and are looking for a bit of connection, take a letter meant for you.
Kids can participate as well with special library postcards! We encourage children to draw a picture, write a poem, or share a story about their favorite book or hobby to brighten someone's day.
While you are welcome to write a letter anytime at the library, we invite you to join us for a monthly Stationary Session where we'll provide extra supplies and a dedicated time to write letters together. All ages welcome!
Get a reminder for the Stationary Session at Lincoln on Monday, August 24th from 5-6:30pm.
