Chinyere Olumba is the Children’s Librarian at the Detroit Public Library Redford Branch, which is located on the west side of the city. Ms. Olumba takes her role as a “gatekeeper to books” seriously. Her love for books and the library started when she was 10, and could go into the school library and checkout books and take them home. Soon, Ms. Olumba began working at the library during her high school year and then later when she became a student in library school. For Ms. Olumba, her love for books “has been in my heart since I was young and now the love for books can be found in my children’s/young adult blog. She has been actively creating a blog where she reviews and recommends young adult novels.
While Ms. Olumba is at home with her two teenage children, they are reading the YA book, “The Giver” by Lois Lowry which will be coming up next on the blog.
