Crystal Jolly is a Children's Librarian at the Parkman Branch of the Detroit Public Library. She has worked at Parkman for almost five years now and loves to provide fun and educational programs to families, children, and teenagers.
One of Ms. Crystal’s favorite things is story times for babies, where she gets to show parents and caregivers simple and fun ways to support their little ones' brain development. Ms. Crystal is now creating the “Virtual Baby Time: Mother Goose on the Loose” video series while the library is closed. These videos are for families with young children because for Ms. Crystal she hopes “that early literacy practices of talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing can be easily practiced at home.”
Born and raised in Detroit, Ms. Crystal enjoys reading, singing and taking her dog, Charlie, for walks at the park. Currently, she is reading Stephen King's The Institute, which is different from her usual self-help book.
