Start Anew! Your Detroit Public Library Card

DPL new library card

The Detroit Public Library is delighted to announce a partnership with Michigan’s Attorney General Dana Nessel. AG Nessel kindly agreed to be the Honorary Chair of DPL’s Library Card Campaign, and we are excited to share a Public Service Announcement (PSA) from the Attorney General in which she encourages everyone to come and get a library card.

Over the next seven months, DPL wants to get a library card in the hands of thousands of new customers. We want to attract a new audience to the library—and welcome those back who have been away for a while. Getting a DPL library card is more than just checking out a book. Your library card is your passport to all the amazing resources at the Library! From digital resources where you can stream movies, music and tv shows, or download an eBook, audio book or magazine to your personal device…you can even check out a laptop and even Wi-Fi hotspot to take home.

"The Detroit Public Library is all about providing access, whether it's best-seller books, Introduction to AI workshops or laptop computers with hotspots," said Atiim J. Funchess, Assistant Director for Marketing & Communications. "Your Detroit Public Library card will provide you access to relevant technology and opportunities for you to participate in our rapidly-evolving society."
