The Pillowcase Project
Duffield Branch
Saturday, May 18, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
As we head into the summer season, now is a good time for children to learn about personal and family preparedness skills! The Pillowcase Project is aimed at kids ages 7 – 12 to help them be ready in emergencies, concentrating on skills for safety, coping and local hazards. Join us at the Detroit Public Library Duffield Branch on Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. as we focus on natural hazards common to Detroit (such as tornadoes), as well as fire safety and power outages. According to Children’s Librarian Karen Robertson Henry, “we will go over coping skills for times during an emergency, establish our emergency contacts, and ensure systems are up to date, batteries refreshed, and supplies ready.”
Make sure your kids are prepared to handle any type of emergency!
