Our docents will share with you the history, art and architecture of Detroit’s acclaimed Main Library. You will discover the Grand Staircase, the Pewabic fireplace, the Ernie Harwell Room, and other surprises along your 1 mile walking journey.

Every floor is accessible by elevator if you are not able to use the stairs. We recommend that patrons with accessibility requirements enter through the Cass Avenue entrance. From there, there is a route without stairs to the Woodward entrance, where tours begin.
