What Shapes Our Health? Diabetes, Genetics, & Environment

This panel is presented by the UM Caswell Diabetes Institute as part of their Community Library Series.

--

The CDI Community Library Series was created to bring health research beyond academic and clinical spaces and directly into the community. Through this collaboration, we aim to make conversations around diabetes, obesity, metabolism, and overall health more accessible while creating opportunities for researchers to hear firsthand from the people and communities their work is intended to serve. By bringing together scientific expertise and lived experience, the series fosters meaningful dialogue, builds trust, and helps ensure research remains relevant and responsive to community needs.

--

The panelists for this conversation will be:

  • Stephen Parker, PhD - Professor, Gilbert S. Omenn Department of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics, Department of Human Genetics, Department of Biostatistics, University of Michigan
  • Susan Woolford, MD, MPH - Associate Professor of Pediatrics, University of Michigan
  • Ted Gloster Jr - Founder & Executive Director of The Forigin Initiative
