Detroit— This February visit the Detroit Public Library for a variety of Black History Month programming for all ages and interests!
During the month, be sure to visit the Main Library or any one of our neighborhood branches. For children, teens and families, there are puppet shows, dance performances, special crafts, and oral history workshops. Adults can choose from a wide range of educational events, historical discussions and performances. Mark your calendars for an evening celebrating the musical legacies of Black artists with select tenors and sopranos from the Detroit Opera on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. And, be sure to check out the current exhibit “Encore” by artist Desiree Kelly with a special closing reception on Wednesday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Galleria.
