The Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund aims to address systemic inequities in land ownership by helping Black farmers in Detroit secure property. Since its inception, the fund had played a pivotal role in empowering Black growers, fostering food sovereignty, and creating sustainable agricultural practices in the community.
Partnering with the Detroit Public Library, representatives from the Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund will visit select branches on an "Application Tour" to provide access to resources, guidance and support for those interested in owning land and agricultural ventures. Learn more about the program, receive guidance on completing an application, and network with other aspiring farmers on the following dates:
- Wednesday, May 28, 6pm-7pm at the Jefferson Branch (more details)
- Wednesday, June 25, 4pm-5:30pm at the Douglass Branch (more details)
