Native American Erasure with Jaike Spotted Wolf
Join Jaike Spotted Wolf of Hidatsa/Assiniboine/Lakota/Settler descendant, as she discusses and educates on Native American erasure throughout American history and culture.
Jaike is a Lead Organizer and Project Manager with Thečhíȟila Collective, an Indigenous led mutual aid & Land Back Collective based out of Detroit, where she stewards Waawashkesk Miikans with a dedicated group of Native and non-Native land back allies, accomplices and co-conspirators. Jaike also runs Spotted Wolf Consulting as a decolonization practitioner and consultant.
Being a reservation impacted member of the Fort Peck community, Jaike has experienced first-hand the devastating impacts of colonialism in relation to the culture, safety, traditions, homelands, and identity of First Peoples all across America being continually, and repeatedly under threat since first contact. She works to end the themes of Indigenous erasure by bluntly and boldly dissecting, then connecting the dots aligning the facts and systemic data that go unspoken in American culture and social justice conversations regarding the state of those native to America; those who have been deeply silenced as the remaining survivors of the genocide of America's First Peoples.
Program will take place in the Old Fine Arts room and will be simulcast on Zoom-see details below.
