Summer Reading 2026 at Franklin

Take a look at Franklin Branch's exciting schedule for this year's Summer Reading Program, Unearth a Story. You can find information on how to participate in Summer Reading Challenges on our main Summer Reading Page.

Read fun books and keep your reading skills sharp over the summer and win prizes every week for reading!  Registration will be ongoing. For ages 0-6, reading to a child will count for prizes. Be sure to log your reading online in Beanstack or stop in for a paper reading log.  

Kickoff Party
Saturday, May 16, Noon – 5:00 pm 
Stop in for games, prizes, snacks and sign up for Summer Reading! 

Summer Reading Activities
Wednesdays, 1:00 – 2:00 pm 
Suggested ages 6 and up 

  • June 24: Make Slime Day 
  • July 1: Paint a Canvas
  • July 8: Footprints by 826michigan imagine the animals behind the tracks, then collaborate to create a thrilling Choose Your Own Adventure.  
  • July 15: Escape Route by 826michigan, explore dinosaurs through fossils and photos, then dream up a fun escape plan just in case their dino friend turns out to be less than friendly!
  • July 22: Make a Bracelet
  • July 29: Finale Party for participants 

Lego Day
Tuesdays, June 23 & 30, July 7, 14, 21 & 28, 1:00 – 2:00 pm 
Come in and participate in our weekly challenge or build your own creation. 

Roblox Team
Thursdays, June 25, July 2, 9, 16 & 23, 1:00 – 2:00 pm 
Meet your friends at the library and play Roblox together. Join our server from home if you can’t stop in. To play from home you must register in person and bring your Roblox ID so we can let you into the server.  

Free Lunches for Children by Forgotten Harvest
June 22 – August 8, Served Noon – 5:00 pm 
Quantities Limited. First come first served. Children must be present to pick up a lunch.
