Vision To Learn

The Detroit Public Library is excited to partner with Vision To Learn, a national program which provides free eye exams and glasses for children and young adults aged 4 – 21.

This summer, the Library will be hosting the Vision To Learn mobile clinics at Main Library and branches across the city. You must register for an appointment with Vision To Learn. Click the link below to find dates and locations close to you.

The Detroit Public Library partners with Forgotten Harvest to provide lunches at library locations throughout the summer. Please call the branches for more detailed information regarding dates and times of the lunches.

Eton Academy Summer Learning

Free Summer Learning Mini-Camps for Neurodiverse Learners

The Detroit Public Library is partnering with Eton Academy’s Hartmann–Eton Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) to offer free 7-week Summer Learning Mini-Camps at the Parkman, Sherwood Forest, and Wilder branches this summer. Designed for students entering grades 1–10, the program supports neurodiverse learners — including students with ADHD, dyslexia, executive functioning challenges and those who benefit from additional structure and support.

Students will strengthen skills in organization, focus, emotional regulation, reading, writing, math reinforcement, and self-advocacy through engaging, multisensory activities led by Eton-trained tutors. The program runs June 22–August 12 and is free for families.

Mondays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Wednesdays, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Wilder Branch
Session 1: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 am – Noon
Session 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
